This is a pair of French clip earrings in an antique bronze finish and features a 1989 postage stamp from Japan featuring the poem Bush Clover from the eleventh series of Bashō Matsuo's diary.
Bashō Matsuo was the most famous poet of the Edo period in Japan. During his lifetime, Bashō was recognized for his works in the collaborative haikai no renga form; today, after centuries of commentary, he is recognized as the greatest master of haiku.
The images were taken from a real, used, vintage postage stamp and may have post office cancellation marks.
Size of earring is 18mm and they are lead and nickel free.
Earrings are water resistant but not waterproof, I recommend removing before showering, bathing or swimming.
